Email your legislator to demand they support a $15 minimum wage in Virginia!
I’m writing to ask you to vote YES on raising Virginia’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024 and eliminating exemptions in the code that are a vestige of Jim Crow and white supremacy that allow some workers to be paid less than minimum wage. Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour would help close the wage gap and give a boost to working families struggling to help their kids get ahead, lifting them out of poverty. There are thousands of workers in Virginia who deserve a higher minimum wage--one that is fair to all Virginians. No one should have to struggle to earn a livable wage. Virginians want to work hard and earn a decent wage that can support a family. They can’t do that when the minimum wage is only $7.25 an hour. I urge you to support a $15 minimum wage and eliminating exemptions in the code that are a vestige of Jim Crow and white supremacy that allow some workers to be paid less than minimum wage.
