Virginians have to make ends meet both at home and at work. They need policies that reflect 21st century dynamics and help them balance it all. That’s why Virginia should make sure every worker has access to paid family leave in case of a new child, a seriously ill family member, or their own health issue.

Anyone who works hard should be able to raise and care for a family with dignity. But too many workers don’t see their hard work honored with the ability to take paid time off to welcome a new child, care for a sick family member, or take care of a health emergency.

SB736 and SB41 would support hard-working families and help them avoid economic anxiety when a medical emergency occurs. Virginians have to make ends meet both at home and at work. Help Virginians work—and live—with the dignity and financial security that all families deserve.
